Traditional entrance doors
When you open a front door it is said that you shake hands with the house. Our doors are sturdy and feel extremely solid. 57mm thick with 120mm stiles and 220mm bottom/mid rails and 95mm muntins give a feeling of closing a substantial door that's secure. We show a range but are happy to quote from your drawings so whether they are for refurbishment or new build the difference can be seen and felt.
Westbury do not have standard grooves to accommodate locks, etc. All you see is the plain traditional sections. Obviously sections can change according to each door design.
Specifications
We use treated laminated redwood for the frames, threshold, door and exterior ply for flush panels and raised and fielded (stained doors have solid hardwood). All frames 57mm x 95mm come with solid rebates and horns unless the order states otherwise. Door stiles and rails are 57mm thick hardwood. Thresholds are 70mm internally x 145mm deep.
Door sets open in with hinges on the right as viewed externally (as standard).
Doors and frame have 2 coats of paint prior to delivery (one further site coat required). Double or single glazed toughened 4mm glass.
Draft excluder fitted around the frame and a brushed gasket to the bottom edge of the door with a water bar to the threshold.
British made brass hinges, doorknob, and doorknocker 5-lever mortice deadlock and a night latch. All doors are hung with door locks prefitted.
